Play Time!

Molly, from Homeward Pet’s Cat Behavior Team, sent these great pictures of two of our most energetic cats enjoying the heck out of getting some much-needed play therapy in the shelter.  Stella, a white ‘n’ black 2-year old Domestic Shorthair, and Julius, a 9-month old brown ‘n’ black, medium-haired tabby, are both available for adoption.

It’s National Volunteer Appreciation Week…

…and we have a year’s worth of “Thanks”!  Every day, we truly appreciate the enormous contribution that our volunteers make to caring for our cats and dogs, representing Homeward Pet in the community, and helping us fulfill our mission to help homeless animals.  Every one of our volunteers plays a significant part in the more than 28,000 cat and dog adoptions completed in our first 27 years.  Thank you for walking and feeding dogs, caring for cats, greeting visitors, helping with events, collecting donations, assisting in the clinic, photographing our available animals, providing foster care, and much, much more.  And for always being willing to do more.  THANK YOU to each and every one of our dedicated, caring, compassionate, hard-working, animal-loving volunteers.

Why Not Ginger?

A big THANK YOU to Pawsitive Alliance, Pet Connection magazine and Q-13 Fox TV for featuring our own adoptable feline, Ginger, on Q-13’s Saturday morning news as part of the “Why Not Me?” pet adoption program.  Pawsitive Alliance’s “Why Not Me?” program focuses on bringing more attention to dogs and cats – like our extra-soft, FIV+, orange tabby Ginger –  who’ve been waiting at local shelters for over 60 days to find their forever homes.  Come in and check out this budding TV star today!

Picture Perfect!

This month, all of our dog and cat adopters will be entered to win a FREE, in-home, professional photo shoot with Christine Moody of Trimood Photography. Christine has a knack for capturing the personality of the pets she photographs, and we’re very excited to have her on the Homeward Pet team. Christine is one of the volunteer photographers who regularly visit Homeward Pet to take great photos of our available animals.
