42 animals found their homes…in just one day!

You helped us make more than 40 matches possible at our 28th Anniversary Adoption Event this past Saturday. Below, you’ll find the stories of some of the animals who found happy endings that day. However, our work with your support is never done—give today to help us continue making matches and saving lives for years to come. Learn about just a few of the lives saved below:

George and Mister (left) came to Homeward Pet together as friends and enjoyed going on walks together. They were adopted by two friends and will get to meet for lots of playdates in the future!

Maz the kitten (right) suffered from skin issues: scabs and itchy patches of hair loss kept her in our care for nearly a month while she healed. Maz’s excited adopter was first in line to adopt her when our 28th Anniversary Adoption Event began.

Buddy Boy, a senior Pomeranian-Chihuahua mix (left), was our first dog adoption of the day. His ideal home was simple: he wanted nothing more than to snuggle in a warm lap all day. Lucky for him, his new home has three laps to choose from!

Help us continue to do lifesaving work in our community.

We Celebrated Our 30,000th Adoption!

On Saturday, February 3, Homeward Pet celebrated a milestone: 30,000 animals adopted since our founding in 1990. Though we’ve changed names and locations since those early days, our mission has still remained the same: unite homeless animals with loving homes.

Christabelle Soriano, a Bothell resident, completed the landmark adoption. She saw her future four-legged family member online—a gray, eight-month-old tabby named Spike—and decided to add another cat to her family. She was already familiar with Homeward Pet after having her 12-year-old Pomeranian, Chiquito, microchipped at the facility last year.

Like many adopters, Spike’s picture is what brought her in: “I saw his face online and thought he was really cute and endearing.” After meeting him in person, his “soft fur and affectionate nature” sealed her decision to take him home that day, along with a celebratory basket of cat goodies, including treats, toys, and certificates for pet services from some of Homeward Pet’s partners.

Since the adoption, it’s been smooth sailing for the whole family. Spike and Chiquito especially seem to have hit it off. Christabelle says, “They like to hang out with each other under the bed if we’re in there. Chiquito doesn’t seem to mind sharing his usual hangout.”

All in all, Christabelle and Spike both are happy with the match, with Chistabelle concluding: “He’s a sweetie. Everyone loves him.”

Homeward Pet will be celebrating 28 years of making matches like Spike and Soriano on February 24, 2018, with $28 adoptions.

We’re Turning 28!

Since being founded in 1990, we’ve helped over 30,000 animals find their forever homes! Celebrate with us on Saturday, February 24, from 12 – 6pm with our 28th Anniversary Adoption Event! All animals are only $28 to adopt.

Please note:  This adoption event is likely to be popular.  We’ll begin accepting applications at 9am, and assist people – in the order of their arrival – beginning at Noon.  Our entire Adoption Counseling staff will be on hand to help, but you should expect longer than usual wait times.  Please review our Adoption Guidelines in advance, and bring all family members – including resident dogs, if you’re looking to adopt a dog – so that we can do our best to help you find a great match for your family.

If you’re not quite ready to add another four-legged family member yet, you can still help! A $28 donation during the month of February will help pay for vaccinations, cat litter, food, microchips, and much more!
