MAGGIE AND NOEL

Maggie
Hi, I’m Maggie!  I’m a beautiful Australian shepherd mix who came from a rural shelter when I was just a pup.  A nice family adopted me, took me to training class and my favorite part of each day was when they’d throw tennis balls so I could retrieve them!  I spent the first three years of my life with them, but they didn’t like it when I tried to protect the home from strange people coming over, so they sent me back to the shelter.  While I was treated nicely and got to go for walks with the volunteers, I wanted desperately to find another family.  Luckily for me a nice woman saw me there and took me home with her.  I was so happy to be out of the kennel and to have a warm, comfortable house to live in again!  I also had a big yard where I loved to run and chase after those tennis balls.  I tried desperately to please my new family.  I never had an accident inside or chewed anything up that I wasn’t supposed to.  The only problem was that there were cats and another dog who already lived there that I didn’t get along with so well.  I wanted to be the center of everyone’s attention and began getting into spats with the other dog and chasing the cats.  Didn’t they understand that this was my home now?

My new family tried to get me to live in peace with their other pets, but I didn’t want to share so I ended up back at the shelter again where I’m still waiting to find the right family for me.  My ideal home would be somewhere where I don’t have to compete for food, attention or the most comfortable place to sleep.  I would love to be with a couple or single person without kids who will take me for runs, long walks and hiking trips.  Everyone says how intelligent I am and if I had a job to do in my new home I would give it my all.  I promise to be a loyal and faithful companion for life!

The Tordie Tornado, Noel
Some of our animals come into our shelters from horrible situations.  Our spirited Noelle is one such kitty.  Noelle was rescued on a sub zero day in Eastern WA.  We’re not sure what happened but her left eye had suffered a trauma or an infection while she was out in the elements.  Little Noel came into our shelter and made herself right at home.  Frequently cats will hide in the busy shelter environment.  Not Noel.  She was front and center demanding our attention!

Her eye was removed to prevent chronic pain and infection. This feisty little character will never let something like only having one eye slow her down- she lives to play and is always in perpetual motion! She sometimes gets a little wound up and plays a little rougher than she should- a home with discipline and lots of nurturing would address her teenage spirit! She is about 6 months old and is a beautiful long haired kitty- everyone at the shelter is just captivated by her fun-loving nature. She would probably do best in a home with older children and although her vision is fine in her right eye she would definitely need to be an indoor kitty. Her energy level is high so her adoptive family will need to be prepared for this adorable feline tornado!
