Happy Tail – Hercules!

What a fantastic dog!  Herc is a great addition to our family.  He is well behaved, funny to the point of being downright goofy, and gets along great with my female German Wirehaired Pointer, Iris.  Both he and Iris are indoor dogs, but have access to the back deck, patio, and yard any time they want through a dog door.  He loves laying in the sun with his nose in the air taking in all the smells.  My vet here says his health is excellent, but believes he is very susceptible to cruciate ligament damage when playing until he gets down to a more reasonable weight.  Herc is on a strict portion-size diet and easy exercise program. We’ll also monitor his thyroid meds carefully until he gets down to 90-95 lbs from his current 109 lbs.   He follows me around the house and leans against me looking for scratching and petting, but doesn’t suffer from any separation anxiety.  I’m really glad I was able to adopt him!
