Louis Needs Your Help

Louis

Louis arrived at Homeward Pet in early November. Just 7 months old, he'd already been through a lot – his scarred ears evidence of his time on the streets, taken in by a kind-hearted rescuer with too many cats, and finally surrendered to us to find him a committed, lifelong home. As Louis was recovering from his neuter we noticed that he was drinking as much as 7 cups of water a day (most cats might drink one cup)! Antibiotics were given, tests were done, urine was sent to the lab, and Louis was diagnosed with Diabetes Insipidus, a rare disorder in cats often caused by a head injury that affects the area of the brain that regulates water intake.

Fortunately, with proper care and ongoing medication, Louis' quality of life will not be affected.

But Louis' medication is costly, $100 per month, and we could use your help as we monitor his progress and determine the correct dosage. We're looking for a compassionate sponsor, willing to cover the costs of Louis' medicine every month, until we're able to find his forever home.

If you'd like to sponsor Louis with a monthly contribution to Whoopi's Fund – Homeward Pet's dedicated medical fund – please contact Terri at 425-488-4444, ext. 405, or email terri@homewardpet.org. Your generous donation will go directly to Louis' care and the cost of his medicine.

Thank you!
