Reception
This position is great for animal
lovers that are also "people persons". This is ideal for anyone interested in
focusing on animal advocacy or public relations.
DESCRIPTION
Reception is responsible for
welcoming visitors to the adoption center. This position has the opportunity to be the
public face of HPAC and requires strong people skills.
Duties include:

Greeting each visitor in person
·
Answering the phone in a pleasant and
helpful manner
·
Answering questions about the adoption center processes,
including adoption, volunteering and fostering
·
Directing visitors through the adoption process,
from viewing the animals, to filling out the applications, to working with an
Adoption Counselor
·
Assembling adoption packets
·
Keeping the reception area clean and attractive
·
Assisting with adoption center laundry
·
Additional projects as needed.
TIME COMMITMENT
Volunteers are scheduled for the same 2-3 hour shift each week. There is a 3 month minimum weekly commitment. Dependability is essential.
SHIFTS
Monday-Friday 11am – 7pm
Saturday-Sunday 9am - 6pm
TRAINING REQUIRED
All volunteers must attend a
volunteer orientation before starting their position. The orientation covers
each of the volunteer positions at HPAC in detail and explains the overall
objectives of HPAC as an organization. HPAC trains all volunteers. No previous
experience is necessary.
