Elliott’s New ‘Do!

Thanks to Muttley Crew Cut in West Seattle our little Elliot got a complimentary bath and a haircut last Sunday.  Muttley offered their services for the day to several local shelters and rescue groups.

Cause for Celebration!

This month, we celebrate our 27th year of helping homeless animals.  And this week, we had an adoption to celebrate!  Roxy had been with us for over a year, as our clinic team and veterinary partners worked to sort out her medical issues.  On Thursday, Roxy went to her forever home with Rosemarie!

For the Love of Animals!

A special thanks goes out to VCA Sno-Wood for being this month’s enewsletter sponsor! VCA is a wonderful supporter and veterinary partner who regularly provides Homeward Pet with discounted consultations, x-rays, and emergency care for our shelter cats and dogs. Here are a few words from VCA themselves!

“VCA Sno-Wood is very happy to be a sponsor of Homeward Pet. We appreciate all the amenities that they provide to their clients and the community. Their love and commitment mirrors ours and that is why we feel so strongly about helping them when needed.

Here at VCA Sno-Wood Animal Hospital we strive to provide the personal touch and client doctor relationship that is sought by many other practices. Our clients pet’s health is our top priority and excellent service is our goal. We seek to provide that with a Free First Exam for dog and cat owners, wellness plans for budget management, exams for exotics animals, grooming for dogs and cats & boarding for all!  This month we are offering 20% off our dental cleanings so give us a call or stop in to get an estimate.”

We wish to thank you for your incredibly caring and generous donation of pet food and supplies. Also, a ray of hope and encouragement is allowed to shine. Thank you again for all you do to help others. We hope you feel blessed in return by the kindness you have shown to these people and to the pets they own.

Wishing you each a year of happiness, health and great, continued success.”

Star-Struck!

“We adopted Star from HPAC almost ten years ago and she has been one of the greatest dogs we have ever had. We first came to Homeward looking for a cocker spaniel we had seen on the website, but instead, we found Star, postpartum and looking very sad because her last pup had just been adopted. She had been found in a big pipeline in Spokane, pregnant, and without a home. So, we decided that we were going to foster her because we simply could not say no to her.

Soon we fell in love with Star and couldn’t dare let her go, and she has been a part of our lives ever since! She is a fan favorite, coming to my sporting events and homecoming pictures, often people tell me “oh I was hoping you were coming because I wanted to see Star!” She is one of the best dogs one could ever ask for, and I’m so glad we adopted her because I could not imagine what these last ten years would have been like without her.”

Meet the love of your life at our 27th Anniversary Adoption Event on February 25!

All adoptions just $27! See additional details here.

Happy Tail – Rocky (formerly Duke)!

To the amazing group at Homeward Pet, We wanted to say thank you for helping us find Rocky.  He is an amazing addition to our family and he is settling in nicely.  We can’t say enough good things about our experience with Homeward Pet.  It was honestly the best adoption process ever.  -Mike, Tracy & Samantha

Happy Tail – Indy (formerly Reggie)!

Our newest family member, Indy, is doing great.  He has to be one of the easiest puppies of all time.  He chews his chew toys and little else. Over the Christmas break we may have overdone it a little bit.  There were a lot of trips to the dog park and hiking.  He slept a lot whenever he could get some down time.

Now that the holiday is over, we are back to walking about 4 miles per day during the week, and the dog park on the weekends.  It is fun to watch him play with our 4.5 year old German Shepherd, Freddie. They really enjoy a good game of tug-o-war.

Cheers,
Scott

Fun-gility at Homeward Pet!

A huge THANK YOU to Lindy Langum from K9 Fun Zone for teaching our staff and Dog Behavior Team how to use our new agility equipment to provide our shelter dogs some fun, burn off some energy, use their brainpower, and build some confidence.  Here she is showing Jasper how to weave and teeter-totter.  Lindy calls it “fun-gility”!

And another huge THANK YOU to Justin Statile and Eagle Scout Troop 61, Lynnwood, for building and donating all of these great pieces of agility equipment to Homeward Pet!  It’s already making life better for the dogs during their stays at the shelter.
