Host a Pet Food Drive

Homeward Pet Food BankAre you looking for an opportunity to help animals in the shelter and in your community? You can make a big impact by holding a Pet Food Drive. Your dog and cat food donations will help feed the animals in our care as well as the pets of low income families.  Food distributed through the Homeward Pet Food Bank prevents families from making the tough decision to surrender a pet due to finances.

Host a Pet Food Drive in 6 Easy Steps:

  1. Make a collection bin:  Choose something you can easily transport. Personalize it with wrapping paper, pictures or whatever strikes your fancy! Print the attached Shelter Essentials list to attach to the bin. Make a sign clearly indicating donations will go to Homeward Pet Adoption Center.
  2. Choose a location: Consider a high-traffic location with lots of compassionate animal-lovers. What about your school, church lobby, gym or work? Don’t forget to get permission!
  3. Determine a Time Frame: How long will you leave the collection bin out? Choosing and posting a specific time frame encourages donors to act quickly! If you are not able to monitor the collection bin regularly, is there someone onsite who can?
  4. Promote it!  Share what you are doing with others.  Consider posting the drive location, date and Shelter Essentials list on social media.
  5. Bring it in: When the drive is up or the collection bins are full, bring your donations in to Homeward Pet at 13132 NE 177th Place, Woodinville.  We are happy to help unload and give you a personalized tour!
  6. Send Thanks: Don’t forget to thank the individuals that made your drive successful! In person, by email or a mailed thank you card.

THANK YOU for your compassion for animals in-need!  YOU make the difference!
