Shredding for the Animals!

The Windermere Woodinville Team presented Homeward Pet with the proceeds from their shredding event – supporting the local community with free shredding and helping to care for the homeless animals here at Homeward Pet!

Thank you!

Happy Tail ~ Lena

“It’s been three months since we adopted Selena (now Lena) and she’s settling in nicely in her forever home. She was very shy at first, but Lena’s coming out of her shell and gaining more confidence every day. She loves ball and frisbee play, going for long walks, and making new doggie friends. She’s very well mannered in the house and hasn’t shown any sign of separation issues when left alone.

We had her DNA tested and found out that she’s 3/4 Belgian Malinois and 1/4 Great Dane. She’s only 50 pounds so about the only thing she got from her Great Dane heritage are somewhat floppy ears and a strong desire to be a lap dog with her family. She’s certainly has the Malinois high energy level and enjoys plenty of daily exercise rain or shine!

Lena is very affectionate with us and is a wonderful and loyal companion.

Thank you, Homeward Pet!”

Dog TV

Homeward Pet alumni, Riley, cannot take her eyes off of her new friends! Providing her with endless hours of entertainment.

Happy Tail – Peggy Sue!

She’s such a doll. So sweet and such a fun personality. Thank you everyone for taking care of this dog and letting me adopt her. She’s put a big spark back in my house. Tyler loves her. She sits, lays, stays, shakes and rolls over. Very smart. She also runs around my yard like she’s on a trace track and chases the squirrels that try to get in my bird feeders. She keeps me on my toes. I just adore her. Thank you 🙂

Happy Tail ~ Murphy!

Murphy is a new man! He’s got a new hairdo, a family, a lawn to lay in and a fresh bone in his paw. It doesn’t get much better than that!

“Murphy got his summer cut!! He’s adjusting well and enjoying wandering through all five acres!  Thank you for your care of him!!”

Hummer’s Amazing Transformation!

It’s easy to see that Hummer, our 8-year-old Maine Coon mix, has a pair of stunning blue eyes. But few would have known quite how beautiful they were until a couple of weeks ago when he was able to open them for the first time, bringing to light an exciting world and a whole new beginning. Hummer arrived at Homeward Pet in rough shape after being trapped as a stray in Eastern Washington. He came to us with matted fur, an ear infection and a fractured tooth. Both of Hummer’s eyes were painfully sealed shut with his lower eyelids turned in causing painful ulcers on both eyes.

Hummer before surgery

Thanks to our amazing Homeward Pet supporters and skilled veterinary team, his aching tooth was pulled, his teeth were cleaned, his coat brushed and his ear infection cured. As for his eyes, they needed extra medical care. After a consultation with Northwest Animal Eye Specialists, the Homeward Pet team completed two corrective entropion surgeries and after two months of rest and recovery, Hummer’s crystal blue eyes opened. For the first time in a long time, this playful and loving lap cat could see the world around him.

It didn’t take long for those blue eyes to work their magic on one lucky adopter. Hummer found his forever home with the daughter of a Homeward Pet volunteer.

Today, he is healthy, healed, happy and loving life! Just look at those eyes!
