A Bag Full of Treats

The cat’s out of the bag: Pacific Bag’s design and packaging services are polished to meet your needs. It isn’t all business, though; the company also has a strong philanthropic spirit. We’re fortunate to have a number of local and longtime supporters like them. Just a few minutes down the road from Homeward Pet, Pacific Bag is our neighbor specializing in bulk and custom packaging.

Catch up with Pacific Bag’s very own Marketing Manager, Whitney Smyth, and see what she has to say about the busy industry.

“Located on the Woodinville-Redmond Road, Pacific Bag, Inc. got its start over 30 years ago selling stock packaging. It has remained the core of what we do, because the need for unprinted, unlabeled ‘stock’ bags, sold in small case quantities, is stronger than ever.

We service more than 4,500 customers in 50+ countries with a wide selection of stock products ranging from side gusset bags, stand-up pouches, paper tin-tie bags, flat pouches, bulk packaging, java boxes, rollstock, accessories, tins, bag sealers, weigh and fill machines, and more. We specialize in markets varying from coffee, specialty food and pet food, to agricultural products.

PBi takes pride in supporting our local community. Regardless of how you choose to define community, we believe that we have a shared responsibility for it. PBi, while proud of our commitment to all the communities we travel within, we continue to seek ways to help local causes, encourage employee involvement and join with our partners in giving back to this world we all call home. As part of who we are, we believe strongly in giving back into the industries we service and our local community. By helping Homeward Pet Adoption Center, we get to do both and see some wonderful animals find their forever homes. We thoroughly enjoy supporting Homeward Pet!”

A Happy Home for Roxy

As the holidays approach and we are enjoying warmth, comfort and love in our homes, Roxy is still waiting to find that for herself. Roxy has been in and out of Homeward Pet for 3 years after her original owner passed away. Now, this sweet feline needs her adoption angel.

Roxy has a couple medical issues which sound a little scary, but they’re really not. The herpes virus, which gives her chronic upper respiratory infections, and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Due to the herpes virus, Roxy sometimes experience flare-ups where she appears to have a cold—her nose gets stuffy and she sneezes (sometimes a lot!). It passes in about a week and a low-stress environment may help prevent them from coming on at all. For IBD, just make sure Roxy has her Natural Balance duck and pea food. It’s available at most major pet stores and isn’t too expensive. She also gets Miralax daily to help prevent constipation, and she eagerly eats that mixed in with her wet food.

Roxy is an amazing cat who will bring a lot of joy to her adopters’ lives. She can cuddle. Oh goodness, can Roxy cuddle! Her most cherished pastime is to curl up in her favorite volunteers’ laps and read a good book—she happily snoozes away while being read aloud to. This surely would transfer over to watching TV or playing video games.

Her second favorite pastime is playing! She has bursts of energy that would surprise you for a 9-year-old cat. Mice and wand toys are her favorites. She’s got quick reflexes and can snag any toy out of the air in a nanosecond. Come watch her in action!

If you have been feeling the urge to do something good and help an animal in need, Roxy is here and waiting for you. Once you bring her home, she will show you what it means to be truly grateful. Please help Roxy find her Happy Home this holiday season!
