Victoria grew up in the greater Seattle area and remembers her mother volunteering for a local animal shelter in the 1970’s. After a career in the financial services industry working for Bank of America and Homestreet Bank, Victoria retired and began also volunteering for a local shelter. During the pandemic she got connected to Homeward Pet as a dog foster volunteer and joined the Board in 2022. She has served as Board Treasurer and chair of the ED Search Committee.
Why do you volunteer your time as a board member?
I got connected to Homeward Pet during the pandemic when the shelter accepted owner surrender pets that other shelters turned away. I fostered one of those dogs and ultimately adopted her. During that time I came to appreciate the commitment that Homeward Pet makes to pets who need extra veterinary and behavior support to be ready for their future homes. I continue to foster dogs for Homeward Pet and have been on the Board since 2022.
2026 committees: Finance (Chair/Board Treasurer through January), Executive (through January)
Tell us about any pets you have at home:
Lola is a 10-year-old pittie who was adopted from Homeward Pet in 2021. She can be shy and withdrawn at times and is not at all happy living in a home without another dog. After bidding her BFF farewell in early 2025, we fostered and then adopted Logan — a gregarious 2-year-old husky/pittie/shepherd/great pyrenees/chow-chow/chihuahua mix. Logan is full of energy and is working hard to learn his manners. Lola adores him.
