Help us to keep vandals from affecting our ability to save lives.
Every week, the Homeward Pet transport van is a rolling sanctuary. Inside, you’ll find dozen of hopeful, anxious, and weary faces—dogs and cats being transferred from overcrowded shelters to our care. It is the literal lifeline that brings them to safety, giving them the second chances they desperately need.
But two weeks ago, that lifeline was abruptly cut.
In the early morning hours, our secured parking lot was broken into. The intruder slashed a foot-long gash directly into the van’s gas tank just to steal a few gallons of fuel. They left us with a damaged vehicle, forcing us to cancel scheduled transports from other shelters, and leaving behind an unexpected financial burden.
Even with insurance coverage, the out-of-pocket cost to repair the damage will climb into the thousands of dollars.
This is thousands of dollars we simply do not have budgeted.
Every dollar spent responding to this senseless act is funding diverted away from the medical care, behavior training, and daily support our animals rely on. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we depend on the generosity of our community to continue this work – and we need your support to help us bridge this gap.
Your gift will help repair our transport van and ensure that pets waiting for rescue and a second chance can still safely make their journey to Homeward Pet.
Will you help us get back on the road for the animals who need us most?
