Willow Strikes a Pose!

Unlike most cats, Willow LOVES belly rubs and will even knock over her water dish to roll over for them!

Willow came to Homeward Pet with severe thickening of the cartilage in both ears making it difficult for her to hear and for our clinic team to clean. After removing the excess cartilage, she has become one happy cat!  While she is still healing and being monitored by the clinic, she is not yet available for adoption.  Keep an eye on the website for when she is ready to meet her forever family.

Volunteering for Snuggles!

Angie, one of our outstanding dog-walking volunteers and a member of our Dog Behavior Team, gives AND gets some attention from Ricky and Lucy, a pair of senior long-haired Dachshunds who just recently arrived at Homeward Pet (and will be available for adoption after they get their health check-ups).

Take Action!

A bill to repeal Washington’s breed discriminatory legislation ordinance is being considered in the current legislative session.  SB 5094 would take a step toward eliminating using breed as a factor when determining if a dog is dangerous or potentially dangerous.  If you oppose legislation that deems a dog as dangerous based solely on their breed or appearance, now is the time to call your state senator, and express your support for SB5094.

Foster Home Wanted!

Cooper is a friendly, larger-than-life guy who needs a foster family for a while!  This sweet, beautiful 5-year-old Bluetick Coonhound recently tore his ACL, which will require surgery.  We are hoping to find a quiet, calm foster home for him to recover. His ideal placement is with someone who is home enough to give him regular potty breaks and plenty of attention during his rehab (Homeward Pet will manage his medical care and expenses), and whose house is free of cats or other small animals.  Post-surgery, Cooper will need to be kept on crate rest for several weeks and will gradually be allowed to increase his walking and exercise time. When Cooper is all healed up you will see just how much he loves to run, play and explore! He will make an amazing addition to any family. Cooper’s surgery will be scheduled as soon as we secure a foster home for his recovery. Can you or someone you know help him?
